Boris Johnson has suffered his first major defeat in the House of Commons as Tory rebels joined opposition MPs to take control of the parliamentary agenda in an effort to prevent a no-deal Brexit. We are joined by our old pal Rob Ford (University of Manchester) to make sense of these developments. We talk about prorogation, the UK constitution, and the general malaise and dysfunction of British politics.
